Marjolijn Hondebrink

Marjolijn Hondebrink (Almelo, 1979) studied in Groningen after completing secondary school and obtained her first-year course diploma in the English language at the State University in Groningen. There, she studied Communication and Information Sciences, with a specialisation in Intercultural Communication. In order to put intercultural communication into practice, she studied for a year in Barcelona during her study. Marjolijn did an internship at the International Agricultural Centre (presently Wageningen International) in Wageningen, where she worked as a teacher’s aide while carrying out research about negotiations of meaning in the context of intercultural communication.

Marjolijn graduated at the end of 2005 with a thesis on intercultural communicative competence. She started working for Agriterra in February 2006 as a communications officer and she currently works as information coordinator. She is responsible for the management of Agro info.net (information platform for farmers’ organisations) and in addition works on the application of ICT in developing countries.
