Marly Boonman (Noordoostpolder, 1960) studied Public Relations/ Information in Deventer and graduated as a Master’s in Development Studies in The Hague. She worked for 10 years in rural development projects in cooperation with rural people’s organisations in Yemen, Nicaragua and Zimbabwe. After returning to the Netherlands, she started working in 1996 for the predecessor of Agriterra, the Paulo Freire Foundation (PFS).

Until Marly worked for Agriterra as liaison officer for the advisory department, focussing her activities on organisations in Latin America. From 2004 until 2011, she was not only liaison officer but also quality coordinator for the entire organisation. Since April 2011 Marly is liaison officer for the team grass-roots entrepreneurship. She focuses on Central America and English-speaking Africa. Furthermore she is AgriPool manager.
