liaison officer
Jeannette van Rijsoort (Sittard, 1969) studied Biology at the University of Utrecht. For her internship she stayed in Bolivia. After graduation, she worked for 15 years in development cooperation and international nature conservation. She has worked in policy-making (DGIS, LNV), in research (WUR, European Tropical Forest Research Network), and in the countries in development. She did several project evaluations in Africa and Asia, and lived a long period in southwest China.
In China she worked in the Yunnan province, where she was responsible for the advising and training of the government and farmers in participatory forest management and institutional strengthening. At the same time she contributed to the development of strategies. Before starting to work for Agriterra, she worked for a cooperative of forest owners in the Netherlands, focusing on knowledge management and organisational development.
Since January 1, 2008, Jeannette worked as liaison officer for Asia focusing on China, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Indonesia. After the reorganisation of Agriterra she became liaison officer for the team grass-roots entrepreneurship, for China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Tadzjikistan.
