Larisa Gordi-Jahanfar was born in Teheran in 1971 and spent her youth in Iran, where she studied Culture and Literature.

In 1992, she emigrated to the Netherlands. After successfully completing the Dutch language courses, she followed a study in Business Administration at the Vocational Training Centre. During this course, she did an internship in Agriterra. In 2000, this resulted in a permanent appointment as financial officer within the financial administration department.
