Jan Vinck (1970) studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam, where he graduated in 2001. He specialised in African history and cultural aspects of HIV/Aids, culminating in a thesis about the social context of sexual behaviour in Cape Town suburbia. In 1996 he studied Archaeology at Fort Hare University, South Africa.After 2001 he became a bookseller, which landed him in the inner world and body of Amsterdam’s literary scene – the Athenaeum Bookstore. He wrote articles on Africa and literature and live a year in Capetown as journalist for the Big Issue.
He started working for Agriterra in May 2009. As financial officer he is responsible for handling mission- and project contracts (in the Dutch, French and English languages) and for editing mission reports. In his spare time he loves to read and travel.
