Petra Zwart, (1978) studied International Business & Languages at the HEAO in Arnhem, followed by the study Business, specialisation International Managagement, at the Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen. For these studies Petra lived in Montpellier, Lille and Istanbul. She did her thesis for the European Union in Brussels and studied the impact of the introduction of the Euro on tourism in Cyprus. After her study Petra started immediately at Africa’s Eden, at that moment a starting organisation that supports nature conservation by the development and sales of tourism products in West Central Africa, where she worked for 5,5 years.

Since August 2009 Petra works for Agriterra. Starting as projects officer, she mainly worked on the strengthening and development of farmers’ organisations in Congo DR, Burundi and Ethiopia. Since April 2011 Petra works as liaison officer for the team agribusiness. For this team, that particularly focuses on the (further) development of economic activities of farmers’ organisations, she helps prospective agribusiness organisations in Ghana, Rwanda, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia to professionalise their products.
