Cooperative enterprise empowers women

IFAP encourages the adoption and strengthening of cooperatives as a business model that not only supports male and female farmers collectively but that can also improve women farmers' employment and living conditions. With their democratic structure, cooperatives can be a means to promote women farmers' work and facilitate their leadership as in most countries still, women farmers' role in building a sustainable future is not fully recognized.
