Experiences of farmers' organisations compiled in one booklet
Friday, January 6, 2012
The booklet "Les organisations paysannes innovent pour se positionner dans les chaînes de valeur agricoles" gathers case studies of problems and successes of eleven farmers' organisations and cooperatives in the Great Lakes Region of Africa (Rwanda, Burundi and DR Congo). These cases help to expose issues, to understand them and draw lessons that could benefit members and technicians of other rural organisations that want to better serve their members. The booklet specifically focuses on how the eleven producer organisations innovated and better positioned themselves in agricultural value chains. The booklet was put together and edited by Agri-ProFocus, Agriterra, IFDC, KIT, WUR-CDI and the coordination office of the Initiative pour la Promotion de l'Entrepreneuriat Rural au Rwanda. Written in French, it will be a valuable resource for producer organisations from the Great Lakes Region and other French-speaking countries.
