Transition plan, linking "Sowing the seeds of Renewal" with the Strategic plan
Jan 1, 2007-Dec 31, 2008
Preparation of the transitional plan lead to the focus of KENFAP on:
The specific needs of variety of membership (individual, group, cooperative and commodity organisations),
The need to review the constitution with an aim of giving the organization the Continental European model focus, from the current Anglo-Saxon inclination,
The need to restructure KENFAP for effective service delivery, among others. Some of these findings/recommendations have been factored into the current planner.
After a discussion and consensus building workshop with all its donors, KENFAP came with the final version of the strategic themes as follows:
a) To strengthen KENFAP as an Apex organisation for effective; leadership, service provision, lobby and advocacy, partnership development and representation of its membership
b) To enhance effective participation in policy and research dialogue within the agricultural sector.
c) To develop effective information and communication systems and structures.
d) To reduce vulnerability of the membership to natural and man-made catastrophes through infusion of the relevant coping mechanisms
e) To promote active and productive engagement of KENFAP women and youth in agriculture
f) To promote sustainable utilization of the natural resource base for improved agricultural productivity and food security.
