The Federation APA exists of 35 local APA´s, with a total number of about 8000 members. The APA´s have up to date the following activities: exchange of knowledge, negociation with buyers, lobby and representation, coordination of demand of subsidies, assist individual members, training of members on farming methods and technologies. APA has a Board and 4 staff members, but does not yet have an office and secretariat.
The project follows the former project of the year 2005, which was executed by APA in collaboration with the Duth Association AGRONED. The main objective is to reinforce the federation and its member organisations (APA´s), which should lead to durable services to members and the improvement of their production and income.
The main activities for this project will be:
to implement a strategic planning for the coming years including a consistent action plan
the creation of a permanent office and secretariat
a service centre providing technical services towards members, the regular publication of a members magazine.

The total project costs is: 85.692 euro.
This is composed as follows:
Agripool (6 missions): 31.014 euro
Advisory Department: 3.786 euro
project APA: 42.650 euro
cost of financing procedure: 8.242 euro.
