Capacity building through producers associations 2005
The project consists of 7 sub-projects, each with specific objectives and budgets and is a continuation of the activities and programs developed in the framework of the partnership between Agroned-the Netherlands and the Federation of Agrarian Producers Associations (APAs) in Transylvania 2004. In 2005 APA tends to work on professionalizing the organization and providing more visible services to it's members by opening a central secretary, and attracting a bookkeeper, Agriterra should keep track of the salary costs. The reporting capacities of APA's are to be improved. In the initial proposal there is no own contribution mentioned, if the proposal can be formulated the Projects officer will ask questions if and how own contribution can be included in the proposal.
Activities for 2005 consist of:
Developing and strengthening (technical) capacities for improved / advanced farming. Schooling and training in the Netherlands along with internships on farms in the Netherlands (via AgroNed), study visits and technical missions of Dutch experts are foreseen. To embed and institutionalize the knowledge development the establishment of a information / training center is foreseen safeguarding technical services to members.
