Work area 9 "Inputs for agriculture"

Jan 1, 2007-Dec 31, 2010

The major feature of the work area ‘Inputs for Agriculture’ is the strengthening of capacities of farmers’ organisations - especially producers’ cooperatives - to provide input supply services to their members. The work area focuses on Africa and collaboration with IFDC. 20 input supply projects are planned with a minimum reach of 100,000 farmers improving their access to inputs and, as a result, improving farm productivity and farmers’ income. A coherent set of PO activities, addressing different constraints and opportunities, is expected to lead to an improved understanding of what farmers’ organisations can do, in collaboration with other actors. These experiences will be laid down in operational products and tools for producers’ organisations.
