Training staff of Tanzanian co-operatives in complying with international financial reporting standards
Jul 1, 2008-Dec 31, 2009
Tanzania Federation of Co-operatives (TFC) is the national umbrella organisation of co-operatives societies in Tanzania, of which over 90% of the members are farmers organisations. Currently, Cooperative movement comprises of about 6000 Cooperative Societies having about 700,000 members.
Through this project TFC aims to enhance the financial management of its registered farmers organisation with a view to enable them to comply with International Financial Reporting Standards. By developing a training module and distributing it (500 copies) 50 farmers organisations will be enabled to apply IFRS (44 Unions, 4 primary societies and two apex bodies). It is expected that 100 staff members will be reached.
