Cooperation between Agriterra and SNV

Since 2007 Agriterra cooperates with SNV to strengthen the position of farmers in developing countries. As it does for Agriterra, agricultural development cooperation also has priority on the agenda of SNV.

The cooperation between Agriterra and SNV is of added value. Agriterra has the financial means to support farmers' organisations, whereas the strength of SNV lies in the expertise of its advisors on site. Additionally, Agriterra primarily works with national farmers' organisations and aims at reaching members at grassroots level within the Farmers Fighting Poverty programme. SNV mainly works with local organisations and strengthens cooperation of farmers' organisations with local governments and (financial) service providers. Thus, both organisations complement each other well in order to support farmers' organisations optimally.
