Software Development for Cooperatives
1 janv. 2006-31 mars 2008
FAO plans to implement a GCP/INT/.../FIN \"development of Prototype Computerized Cooperative Management and Member Information System (MMIS)\" with contributions and technical support from Finland. The two-years´ programme is hoped to be extended with a third year to extend the pilot to other cooperatives working with ICA, developing in that phase the final prototype and technical guidelines for replication
FAO approached Agriterra for additional funding for the inclusion of new pilots in Latin America. Agriterra´s contribution would therefor be used for national (cooperative) staff, equipment and training and should be supplied for the full three years.
Agriterra will be part of the technical team and will procure the linking of this efforts to work done by Vi@africa on member registration databases for farmers´ unions (open source soft ware) and our efforts in farmer connectivity/peasantsworldwide (04at-2691), MISTOWA (04ns-3376), and Cooperative Marketing Strategies (05ag-3923).
The financement rules have to be agreed upon but likely a Letter of Agreement with FAO seems to be the viable strategy.
