Work Area 14 Gender and Women in Development

As gender is a cross cutting issue which it should be incorporated in all Work Areas. This means that each work area manager should adopt a gender sensitive approach in order to achieve the targets of 30% budget allocation and outreach to women as defined in Farmers Fighting Poverty. It is the task of each work area manager to be aware of the gender balance within his/her work area.
Specific objectives are:
1. Agricords target for 2007: involving 81.280 women in all projects ( in all work areas) with an outreach of 36.798 in this specific area and target for 2010: reaching 820.634 women in all work areas.
2. To capitalise the experiences on gender implementation within the PO world, as supported by different agri-agencies.
3. To create a gender-learning-by-doing process within POs and develop some practical gender tools based on these experiences.
4. To have POs which are aware and work actively towards improving the gender aspects of their organization at various levels.
5. Monitoring of gender and women in development by POs and Agri-agencies
