In developing countries, many people live and work in rural areas. They can contribute considerably to eradicate poverty. Agriterra wants to work with those rural people who are truly dedicated to this by getting organised. Because together you stand strong.

Working Method

A key focus in the work that Agriterra carries out is the cooperation from farmer to farmer. We know that every organisation has accumulated experiences that can be useful to others. That is the reason why Agriterra mobilises the knowledge that Dutch agricultural organisations have, for the benefit of organisations in developing countries. We act as a mediator in the creation of various forms of cooperation amongst organisations in developing countries, and between these organisations and colleague organisations in the Netherlands.

Agriterra's tenth anniversary!

This year, Agriterra celebrates its 10th anniversary. In the last week of June, we availed ourselves of this jubilee to ask attention for our method of agricultural development cooperation. It is possible, necessary and it works!

From June 23 till 28, we celebrated this jubilee with: a three days farmers' tour (Toer-de-Boer), an international seminar "Cattle Breeding Worldwide". Main themes of this seminar were animal health and sustainability in cattle breeding.

And, with the support of the NRM Foundation, were present with a large pavilion at the National Cattle Manifestation in Utrecht on June 27 and 28 in which our programme "Farmers against Poverty" was at the centre stage. During this event, visitors could speed date with Agnes van Ardenne (FAO) and Albert Jan Maat (LTO). On June 28, we organised a few Dairy Cattle Cafés, where farmers from the Netherlands and abroad met to learn from each other. Here you will find an impression of the NRM.

Our jubilee activities were made possible by the Foundation NRM, Alfa Accountants en Adviseurs, Rabobank Foundation, VanDrie Group, Storm Creative Agency, VION, Bouwbedrijf Knook, Campina and Parantion.
