Market developer

Elske Koelman

Elske joined Agriterra as Market Developer based at headquarters. She is responsible for market development, building and maintaining strategic partnerships and managing acquisition.

Before Agriterra, Elske worked in London as Business Manager at Integrity, an international development consultancy. She was responsible for leading proposals, developing and managing client and partner relations, building winning teams and driving the marketing and communication function. Elske developed successful bids for clients across Africa and Asia covering thematic areas including climate, environment and natural resources management.

Prior to Integrity, Elske worked for the Water Integrity Network (WIN) in Berlin, a non-profit organisation promoting integrity and fighting corruption in the water sector. She managed partnerships and enhanced communications on programme results and best practices.

Elske started her career in Nairobi with the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), where she strengthened a regional rainwater harvesting network working across Southern and Eastern Africa. She also supported the Drylands Development Programme funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Elske holds a MA in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from Utrecht University and a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Utrecht, where she studied International Development, International Relations and Modern History. Elske is originally from the Netherlands and is fluent in English, German and Dutch.
