Directly delivering

05-05-2020

Eatable Oil, such as Peanut, Sesame, Sunflower Oils, is one of the main ingredients in Myanmar Dishes. Without eatable oil in food, nobody has a taste. Also locally produce sufficient domestic consumption for the country. A Burmese saying goes “Have a wash in cooking oil, warm yourself at a fire made by chopped stalks of tobacco, and the paddies are piled in great heaps".

Due to lock-down during the crisis, the situation not like normal. All people are not allowed to go out for buying every day, all shops are prohibited to open, especially retail shops are facing difficulties to sell out their stocks. Without running retail shops properly, the production sides are also affected by that wave.

Nyaung-U Township Cooperative Society  (TCS) is a second level cooperative tier in Myanmar. TCS is producing peanut oil and sells at their own retail shops. Their consumers also come and buy peanut oil to those shops, where now closing. They thought how they can sell out their produce.

Without changing any price, TCS is giving delivery service directly to the consumers' house from the factory with a huge amount of peanut oil in a tricycle, like wholesale, instead of selling at retail shops, And the TCS discounts on the price if the household buys more than one viss (1 viss = 1.63 kilogram). Because households’ incomes are limiting during the crisis.
