Jos de Best (Leiden, 1992), has graduated from the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University), in 2016 with a Master’s degree in Global Business and Sustainability. After graduation, Jos worked in Madagascar (2016-2017) and Kenya (2017-2019), exploring different roles and sectors. Jos’ work primarily focused on sustainable business development and complex problem-solving. This specifically came together in the function of Business Developer for a Dutch company in the horticultural sector, setting up a country office in Kenya. Jos discovered his passion for agriculture. Working directly with farmers, he came to realise that supporting farmer cooperatives can create solid and sustainable impact.
In 2019, Jos joined the Agriterra team as Business Advisor for Ivory Coast. In this position, Jos is responsible for scoping, assessing and advising cooperative agribusinesses in achieving their business objectives. He will be working in the context of the West African region and in close collaboration with colleagues in Ghana and Burkina Faso. Jos hopes his experience in business development can kick-start a promising trajectory for Agriterra and its partners in Ivory Coast.
