Since 2021, Agriterra is a major partner of SNV in the PADANE Project in Burundi. The project, which aims to improve the living conditions of agricultural households, women, young people, and market actors through increased incomes, job creation for youth and women, food and nutritional security, and resilience to climate change, is set to end in December 2024.

Oromia Agricultural Cooperatives Federation (OACF) was established in May 2009 in Addis Ababa, Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. Initially founded by 40 cooperative unions, with a starting capital of 18.3 million, 1698 primary cooperatives, and 1,158,358 individual members.
Abakundakawa Rushashi, a registered coffee cooperative in northern Rwanda since 2004, produces high-altitude coffee in the hills of the Gakenke district. The Ishema Youth Coffee Group, part of the cooperative, started in 2018 with 233 members and has now grown to over 400 young members.

Wijbrand went to Ethiopia as an Agripool expert for Agriterra to review and assess the business plan and financing of the Kafa Forest Coffee Farmers' Cooperative Union.
Together with Dawit Setegn, the local Agriterra advisor, he travelled to Bonga, in the southwest of Ethiopia. Over the course of a week, they spoke with various members of the union, visited cooperatives, and met farmers in remote areas. Communication was sometimes challenging due to the different languages spoken. Nevertheless, much information was gathered on the relationship between cooperatives and the Union with the ultimate aim of enabling a partnership between the union and Agriterra.
Read moreICYEREKEZO 20-31 TABA is a maize cooperative, based in Murambi Village in the Northern Part of Rwanda. In 2023, the cooperative established a women's council with the aims of increasing self-confidence, assuming leadership positions, and increasing the standard of living for its female members by enhancing their financial literacy. The cooperative started with 133 members, each contributing 5,000 Rwf as a share and 500 Rwf per week.
