Winnie Ashaba

Winnie Ashaba is a business advisor within Agriterra Team Uganda. She has previously worked as Community Development Officer within the TIDE project under SNV/TIDE. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Prior to her work with SNV/TIDE project, Winnie served as a manager in two dairy cooperatives in the South western Region of Uganda, i.e. Rushere and Rwempogo Dairy Cooperatives.  During her tenure at the cooperatives, she charted tremendous growth in membership from 25 to 45 and 50 to 81, daily milk collections grew exponentially from 500 to 2800 Kgs and 700 to 4600 kgs respectively. The cooperatives acquired coolers on loan, started marketing chilled milk and paid back in 3 years.
Winnie introduced the basic management structures and streamlined the record keeping system and financial reporting system. Share Capital and member commitment grew as more members joined the cooperatives. Rwempogo established another milk collection center in the period of 2 years. 

Winnie has a passion for M&E, values of integrity and respect for people. She likes working with people to achieve her objectives as well as helping others to achieve theirs. Has a special interest in empowering especially women and youth, to build their capacity and empower them to fulfil their potential in building sustainable business models and promote equity and equality amongst the communities.
