About the role
At Agriterra, we believe that strong farmer organisations are the foundation of thriving rural communities. Through the Future Farmer Empowerment (FFE) Project, we partner with cooperatives in Côte d’Ivoire to strengthen financial inclusion and support their transition toward simple, accessible digital payment systems.
To help make this shift possible, we are looking for an experienced Consultant Trainer in Digital Financial Services with deep expertise in the Wave mobile payment platform. Your work will help cooperatives confidently adopt digital tools and share this knowledge widely within their communities.
Many of our partner cooperatives still rely heavily on cash and face limited access to digital financial services. Wave has been identified as the most suitable platform for their context, offering simplicity, low transaction costs, and strong usability for rural producers.
To ensure sustainable adoption, Agriterra will organise a Training of Trainers (ToT) for cooperative trainers. Your role will be to design and deliver this training, making digital finance practical, relatable, and accessible for all.
Who we’re looking for
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (Bac+4/5) in Finance, Economics, ICT, Rural Development, or a similar field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
Training Skills
- Solid experience in adult learning
- Proven ability to deliver Training of Trainers (ToT)
- Capacity to simplify complex concepts for rural audiences
Soft Skills
- Excellent facilitation and listening skills
- Sensitivity to gender and youth inclusion
- Fluency in French; English is an asset
- Experience in Côte d’Ivoire or West Africa; cocoa sector experience is an advantage
- Understanding of cybersecurity and fraud prevention
What you will do
1. Preparatory Work
- Assess the digital readiness and needs of partner cooperatives
- Design a ToT module adapted to rural and low-literacy audiences
- Develop clear, practical training materials (guides, exercises, manuals)
2. Facilitate the Training of Trainers
- Deliver an engaging ToT workshop in Yamoussoukro
- Lead hands-on demonstrations using mobile devices
- Adjust content to participants’ learning levels and realities
3. Reporting and Capitalisation
- Evaluate participants’ learning progress
- Provide a final report including results, recommendations, and a replication strategy
