At Agriterra, we are looking for a Field Officer Intern to support horticulture cooperatives in Sogakope, Asante Mampong, and Ejura. This internship offers hands-on field experience, mentoring from experienced Cooperative Advisors, and the opportunity to contribute to real impact for farmers and their organisations.
About the internship
As a Cooperative Field Officer Intern, you will work closely with farmer cooperatives in the horticulture value chain. Guided by experienced Cooperative Advisors, you will support activities that strengthen cooperative governance, improve financial management, and professionalise farmer-led businesses.
This role involves regular field engagement and is ideal for someone who enjoys learning on the ground and working directly with farming communities.
What you will do
- Support farmer cooperatives to strengthen governance and organisational structures
- Assist in improving financial management practices at cooperative level
- Engage directly with farmers and cooperative leaders in communities
- Support the organisation of trainings, meetings, and on-site workshops
- Build relationships with local stakeholders at district and community levels
- Contribute to reporting and documentation of field activities
Location: Ghana (sogakope, Asante Mampong, Ejura)
What you bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, or a related field
- Willingness to work in rural communities and travel regularly
- Interest or experience in farmer group mobilisation and cooperative development
- Ability to facilitate or support group trainings and discussions
- Good organisational, reporting, and time-management skills
- Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and related tools
