Farmer organisations are the backbone of resilient and competitive value chains. Their strength is essential for real agricultural transformation. Yet many organisations are not yet managed in a professional or business-minded way. This limits their ability to serve their members effectively, to operate sustainably, and to access finance. The impact is far-reaching. Without strong foundations, organisations struggle to adopt good practices or new technology. They remain less adaptive to climate change, achieve lower productivity, generate fewer jobs, and often appear unattractive to investors and financial institutions.
