Marco Schouten, currently serving as CEO of Agriterra, has been appointed the next Executive Director of Nuffic, the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education. He will assume his new role on 1 August 2025.
Until then, Schouten will continue to lead Agriterra, focusing on ongoing projects and ensuring a smooth transition. Since becoming CEO in 2021, he has guided Agriterra through a period of transformation, developing it into a more regionally structured and future-ready project organisation. Under his leadership, Agriterra has grown into an organisation of 230 staff across 13 countries, supporting over 500 agricultural cooperatives.
As the transition approaches, Agriterra is committed to maintaining stability and continuity while preparing for the next phase of leadership. The Board of Agriterra congratulates Marco on his new role and will promptly begin the process to ensure a smooth handover to his successor.
