Burkina FasoCooperative advisor

Biba Ouattara

Biba Ouattara joined Agriterra in November 2022 as an intern to support the administrative tasks and the follow-up of the action plans of the cooperatives.

In May 2023 she started her new position as Junior Cooperative Advisor in the Agriterra Burkina Faso team. She is part of the Farmers Focus Transformation (FFT) program, where she supports shea cooperatives in marketing, the creation of new businesses and professionalisation.

She holds a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics of Natural Resources and Environment and a Master's degree in Innovation and Development in Rural Areas, both from the University of Ouagadougou/Burkina Faso.

She is passionate about working with agricultural cooperatives that promote women's economic empowerment.

Before joining Agriterra, Biba did an 8-month internship with the Union Nationale of Rice Parboilers (UNERIZ). The internship culminated in the writing of a Master's thesis on "Economic empowerment of women members of rice parboiling cooperatives in Burkina Faso: the case of Bama". This work was requested by OXFAM Burkina to assess their contribution to the economic empowerment of women.

Biba is currently following the course on "Vulnerability and adaptation to climate change" (2024 edition) at Master class II of the 4C Morocco center.

What makes Biba so special is that she loves a challenge.
