Elpidio Camasa (1985), popularly known as “Pedz”, joined Agriterra last July 2021 as a Technical Officer. He was born and grew up in a rural farming community in Leon, Iloilo, Philippines. He earned his degree in Management at University of the Philippines and obtained 18 units in Master’s in Public Administration. He completed his certificate courses on Social Entrepreneurship and Management at Copenhagen Business School and Local Economic Development at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Pedz started his professional career in 2007 as an accounting staff at Queenbank, a local bank. He held different positions there; as an internal auditor, as branch operation officer, as an OIC-Branch Manager and finally as the head of Internal Audit Department. He transferred to CARE Philippines in 2015. As a Senior Sub-grant Officer, he worked with different livelihood enterprises for women, farmers, and fisher folks in the Philippines. He also experienced working with national government agencies like DSWD and DILG as a consultant for project and policy development, monitoring and evaluation and as ISO 9001:2015 specialist.
He also has founded small cooperatives, community-based enterprises, and youth associations. He has been doing this voluntary works since 2012, as a part of his personal advocacy to uplift the lives of farmers and women in their locality.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading books and watching documentary movies.
