Lucia Oyie Horton

Lucia Oyie Horton joined Agriterra Ghana as an intern in October 2021 supporting administrative and fieldwork. In January 2023, she started her new role as a junior cooperative advisor in the Agriterra West African team in the Kumasi office, Ghana. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana and a diploma in general agriculture from the College of Agriculture, Ohawu. She is passionate about working with farmer cooperatives and improving farmers' livelihoods through agriculture and business development.

Before joining Agriterra, Lucia worked at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture as an assistant extension officer and a salesperson at the Department of Planting for foods and jobs in Ghana, where she assisted in providing guidelines and demonstrating the latest technological activities to make farming effective and efficient, supplying inputs to farmers, and organising farming training for farmers. She also worked as a field supervisor at the Ghana statistical service, where she assisted in training field enumerators for data collection as well as reporting and resolving data errors.

She is an ambitious, outspoken, and reliable person who has developed a mature and responsible approach to tasks presented to her. She possesses strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and likes to learn, motivate, and inspire.
