Peter Kalinda

Peter Kalinda holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) majoring in Accounting and Finance from Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Microfinance from Kyambogo University (KYU). He completed the MSM Executive Program in Change Management for Organizational Transition (CM) at Maastricht School of Management (MSM) in the Netherlands.

With over 12 years’ experience before joining Agriterra, Peter worked as a lecturer at Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) and Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) lecturing microfinance &  cooperatives and business related courses respectively Heifer International – East Africa Dairy Development (EADD) Project as Senior Business Development Advisor in 2018, Uganda Crane Creameries Cooperative Union Limited (UCCCU) as serving the dairy farmers in South Western Uganda from 2013 to 2016.

At Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association Limited (UWEAL) he worked as an Investment Manager under the financial services program of Women Investment Club (WIC) SACCO 2011-2012, Association of Microfinance Institutions of Uganda (AMFIU) as a Training Logistics Officer under Rural Financial Services Program (RFSP) on the use of Performance Monitoring Tool (PMT) by SACCOs 2009 and still at AMFIU in 2010 he was also a project officer under the FINLIT project which was carried in Mid-Western Uganda on the saving with Mobile Money as a product for smallholder farmers.

Peter was also a consultant who accomplished different assignments with different local and international level organisations.

On short term assignments Peter, has offered consultancy services in the formation & registration, mentoring & nurturing, access to finance for Rural Producer Organizations (RPOs) and agriculture cooperatives dealing in agriculture value chains especially for dairy, beef, cocoa, beans, coffee, maize, rice, bananas.

Peter is a member of the Association of financial Cooperative Professionals (AFCP) and he is passionate about microfinance and cooperatives to empower economically active poor people for sustainable and progressive development.
