David Maraka, graduated as Bachelor of Management Science (Kyambogo University), MSc Financial Management (Amity University India), MSc Banking and Investment Management (MUBS) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Risk Management and Finance (MMU).
Davis has over 10 years of experience in the financial services. He worked as a credit officer at Post Bank (Ltd) and after that as assistant manager credit Post Bank (Ltd). He undertook credit analysis and administration together with business growth and development at branch level. He was focal person for special credit projects, like solar supported by GIZ for clean energy in rural areas and implemented farmer cash payment and credit rebate system between Postbank and BAT working with tobacco farmers.
David also worked with The Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development as manager of a staff SACCO. He established policies and procedures, that increased savings and reduced PAR. He was instrumental in writing proposals for funding for the SACCO.
In April 2019 David joined Agriterra as a business advisor in Uganda currently handling a portfolio of cooperatives. He likes passionately working with cooperatives to streamline their internal processes and build internal capacity to grow to the next level. His specific focus is on member/farmer financial emancipation.
