Espérance Niyonsaba

Espérance Niyonsaba holds a licence degree in Economic Science and before joining Agriterra she was working with various non-profit organisations in the rural economic development. She has also worked as a fulltime employee performing different functions, such as building capacity of agricultural cooperatives on various topics: structure, governance, business plan.


From 2012 till May 2018 she was an independent consultant, analysing agricultural value chains, elaborating on business plans, building capacity of rural cooperatives on Governance and Financial Management, linking finance institutions to farmers and rural cooperatives to the market. Esperance has worked as an assessor of Institutions Finance with the Microscope tool, as well as an assessor of farmers organisations with scoping tools. She has received training of trainers on Marketing, Financial Management, Governance, Gender and Youth inclusion in the agricultural value chain.


In the past she has worked for Agriterra as a consultant for assessing clients cooperatives and since September 2018, Esperance works as a Business Advisor for Agriterra in Burundi. She believes in transparency while she is especially content to collaborate and support farmers.
