From 25-28 January 2016 the 1st Agriterra Master Trainer Summit on lobby and advocacy took place in Hotel Haarhuis in Arnhem. Twelve Master trainers from Africa and Asia gathered to discuss the Agriterra Farmers Advocacy Consultation Tool (FACT) and share the experiences with the use of the approach in Farmers Organisations in the 3-year pilot period.
Besides that a new FACT training package for training of trainers was presented, practiced and the group was certified as new Master Trainers. Also Den Haag was visited to discuss lobby and advocacy with public affairs managers of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, DR2 consultants and the Dutch Farmers Organisation, LTO Nederland. A very good, productive and inspiring week.
Our network has been refreshed, we learnt from each other and we are happy we can show results with the FACT approach. Last year in several countries an estimated 98,5 mln euro has been allocated for farmers and several laws have changed because of the use of FACT by Farmers Organisations in developing countries.
