We are excited to share the launch of our new programme ACTING NOW together with our partner Solidaridad. With this three-year programme financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we strive to contribute to improved food security and a more resilient food system in nine African countries.
We will work with thousands of smallholder farmers as well as farmers’ cooperatives in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, Congo (DR), and with shared programming in Kenya, Ethiopia and Ghana. Farmers play a vital role not only in food production and food security, but also in economic growth and climate change mitigation.
ACTING NOW will have a particular focus on women empowerment, gender inclusivity, youth, and climate-smart production. Women make up the majority of our target group, and the programme will also have dedicated interventions to include and engage youth.
