Self-financing is a cooperative duty: member capitalization in Uganda

20-02-2015 Bert Steenbergen & Henry Mpanga performed a training 'Internal Capitalization' in Mbarara, Uganda. This training was attended by 16 leaders of 4 cooperatives in the Western Region of Uganda. From 9th of February until 11th of February 2015, we had a joint program with board members, managers and accountants of Mt. Rwenzori, Manyakabi, Katerera and Banyankole on the topic op self-financing. After that each cooperative was visited for an individual training on the job, resulting in an ambitious work plan on this topic.

The participants realize that self-financing is an effective and efficient source of funding, but moreover it is a perfect manner to improve member commitment and –involvement by increasing a sense of ownership for the members.
During the individual training on the job participants were wishful to make an work plan focused on this topic and getting started right away.
