The CRAFT project, just like any other climate related project, had its share of challenges from the onset. However, the fact that it targeted cooperatives in arable crops (the least organised in Kenya) and was based on co-investment approach and required full integration of the value-chain made it extra difficult for CRAFT Kenya.
Despite all, we have managed to mobilise EURO 614,124 in Climate Investments in Kenya alone! Onboarded five cooperatives with 8,330 small holder farmers targeted to increase the yields and incomes as a result of climate investment.
Cooperatives have proven to be critical partners in building climate resilience among small holder farmers.
