Wenty Octisdah

Wenty Octisdah studied at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Indonesia majoring Social Welfare Studies. During her bachelor degree, she gained experience in using Sustainable Livelihood Framework to show how development agenda can provoke poverty to the farmers. After completing her study, she worked as Marketing Supervisor at Authorized Distributor of Panasonic Indonesia. She managed business to business projects on sustainable energy in Java and Bali Region.

Next, she continued her master degree at Wageningen University and Research in the Netherlands majoring Environmental Policy. She has developed expertise in the areas of environmental sociology and sustainable economic development. In addition to her academic training, she did her internship in Amsterdam at Energy Research Center of the Netherlands (ECN part of TNO) which gave her an opportunity to expand professional network with many researchers in the Netherlands,  Germany, and Kenya. Besides, she did her first consultancy project as policy analyst on the issues of sustainable consumption in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Since July 2019, Wenty works as business advisor for Agriterra. She believes that by increasing the economic development in rural areas, it will also decrease the urbanisation problem because people aware and realise there is a stable income within their areas. By joining Agriterra, Wenty hopes to give valuable contributions in the area of Agriculture Development through farmers cooperatives and organisations.

Currently, Wenty lives in Bandung with her husband and daughter. She loves reading and mountaineering activities.
