Emmanuel Ntawiha is the chairman of KOKIKA, a cooperative in the Mudende sector in Rwanda’s Rubavu district. The cooperative, which focuses mainly on growing potatoes, helps members grow and collect the harvests. Besides potatoes, several vegetables such as onions and carrots are also grown, as well as peas and beans. This is done to have other sources of income and crop rotation. With the support of Agriterra, KOKIKA has made several achievements to be proud of.

Oromia Agricultural Cooperatives Federation (OACF) was established in 2009 and is mainly based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Over the years, it has grown to encompass 67 cooperative unions, more than 1.5 billion capital, 5400 primary cooperatives, and above 3 million individual members. The Federation has 392 permanent employees (327 male and 65 females) and 68 temporary employees.

Biruh Tesfa is a farmer-based primary dairy cooperative in Ethiopia working to improve its milk collection and distribution system. The cooperative has been facing challenges with the Robe Berga Union, responsible for transportation and quality checking. As a result, Biruh Tesfa has decided to buy its own Bajaj (a three-wheeled motor vehicle) and start milk collection by itself.
